Jhon Lucumí remains Juventus' top choice to strengthen the back line, according to Sky Sport's Gianluca Di Marzio, with the Colombian defender the priority target as Luciano Spalletti looks to add a reliable partner for Gleison Bremer.
The move first emerged unexpectedly in early June, and Lucumí's position has not shifted since: he has chosen to wait for Juventus, confident the club can eventually reach an agreement with Bologna.
In recent hours Juventus have reconfirmed the economic terms already agreed with the player himself, meaning the final obstacle to the deal is now purely a negotiation between the two clubs. Bologna value Lucumí at €25 million, a figure Juventus are working to bring down, with talks expected to continue as both sides search for a number that works for everyone.
One possible route to closing that gap involves Juan Cabal. The Juventus full-back could be included in the deal as a makeweight, helping bridge the valuation gap between the two clubs' positions. Bologna are said to have grown genuinely interested in Cabal as a squad option in his own right, rather than simply as a discount mechanism, which could make a swap-style structure easier to finalise than a straight cash deal.
The coming days are expected to be dedicated to finding the right formula, with Lucumí's clearly stated preference for Juventus remaining the club's biggest point of leverage as they push to complete what they still regard as their priority defensive signing.
Juventus have also completed a smaller addition further down the pyramid, confirming the signing of Hellas Verona defender Christian Corradi for the club's Next Gen side in Serie C. The move represents a notable investment for a 21-year-old squad player, with Corradi set to join up with Massimo Brambilla's group as they prepare for the start of their Group A campaign.
Corradi, born in Verona in 2005, already knows the level having played in Serie C last season, and featured for Italy at the Under-20 World Cup in the summer of 2025, a tournament in which the Azzurrini were eliminated in the last 16 by the United States.
On loan at Trento last season, he made 32 appearances across the regular season and play-offs, scoring once and adding an assist. Primarily a central defender, Corradi can also fill in at full-back on either flank, giving Brambilla additional tactical flexibility as the Next Gen side begins preparations for a new campaign.
