Jashari spoke to SportMediaset after AC Milan's 2-1 away win at Genoa, a result that kept the club's Champions League hopes alive heading into the final round of fixtures. Milan are level on points with Roma, who won the derby against Lazio on the same afternoon, with everything to play for on the final day.
The midfielder acknowledged the weight of the occasion before the match had even kicked off.
"We already knew before going out onto the pitch how important this game was. When you see your president and the board in the dressing room, you realise how much the match means. It gave us more pressure, yes, but also more motivation. I believe each one of us should feel proud of this game. We did what we needed to do, staying united, and that is what counts."
He was honest about his own contribution, refusing to offer himself more credit than he felt he deserved.
"It was not my best game. I am never happy with the way I play. I always try to give my best and look at every detail and the mistakes I make, like the one at the end. But it is part of football. These situations make you grow. What matters more than anything else is taking Milan into the Champions League, nothing else."
Jashari joined Milan from Club Brugge last summer for 37 million euros and has become one of the most reliable performers in the squad across his debut season in Serie A. He closed his message with a direct appeal to the supporters.
"Sunday will be very important for us. You are very important to us at San Siro. Together we will win this match. Forza Milan."
