Federico Gatti's stoppage-time header cancelled out Alphadjo Cissé's second-half opener to deny Milan what would have been a third straight win, and Gila conceded afterwards that the hosts had done enough to deserve their equaliser.
"They deserved that goal, we weren't at 100 per cent and in the first half we lost far too many balls," the Spanish defender told DAZN.
"We still managed to compete against a very strong side like Juventus, but I haven't managed to see out games at the start of this season and I'm really disappointed. We're happy with the draw regardless."
Asked whether AC Milan had been too cautious in the closing stages, Gila pointed to a lack of composure in possession rather than a tactical failing.
"In the first half we lost too many balls, and after the goal we had chances to go back on the front foot, but in the final minutes they're very good with the balls they put into the box, and you risk conceding like that. We were a little fearful in the final minutes and that's how we conceded," he said.
De Winter, speaking separately to TuttoMercatoWeb.com, was asked about answering doubters with his recent performances.
"I always want to give my best, what people write isn't something I can control. I just always do my job," the Belgian defender said. He also acknowledged technical errors had crept into Milan's display.
"We played well but made too many mistakes with easy balls. They put a lot of players forward, and it's difficult to press them. They did well, they committed men to attack and they scored," De Winter said.
Pressed on the specifics of the equaliser, De Winter admitted he had not yet reviewed the goal in detail.
"I haven't gone back over the action, but maybe we could have pressed the ball more — I need to watch it back. There's no difference for us playing with Gila or Terracciano," he said, when asked whether the change in central defensive partner had been a factor.
Asked why Milan so often draw with Juventus, De Winter offered little insight beyond respect for the rivalry.
"I don't know. What I can tell you is that it's a contest between two strong sides. I can't tell you anything else," he said.
The defender, who came through Juventus's youth ranks before his move to Milan, also reflected briefly on facing his former club.
"It's always nice to come back to where I grew up. It's nice to see people I got on well with, but I only thought about the game."
