The legal dispute between Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain has reached another significant point after French investigators closed the case relating to the player’s complaint of alleged moral harassment.

The investigation concerned Mbappé’s treatment by PSG during the summer of 2023, when the forward was left away from the first-team group after informing the club that he would not renew his contract.

PSG wanted Mbappé either to extend his agreement or leave the club for a substantial fee before his contract expired. The player spent several weeks outside the first-team setup before eventually returning to Luis Enrique’s squad and competing again.

After leaving Paris for Real Madrid the following summer, the dispute developed into a wider legal battle. Mbappé also challenged the club over unpaid salary and bonuses that PSG had withheld, with the club arguing that the amounts were connected to an agreement reached between the player and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Mbappé rejected that position and pursued several legal avenues. His complaint concerning alleged moral harassment was withdrawn by the player in July 2025, but the judicial investigation continued.

According to French reports, the investigating judges ultimately issued a dismissal in May 2026 after finding insufficient evidence to establish charges. The decision brings the criminal-law aspect of the dispute to an end.

The separate financial case produced a different outcome. A French employment tribunal ordered PSG to pay Mbappé around €61 million in December 2025, covering amounts the player argued were owed to him.

PSG subsequently decided not to appeal the employment ruling, bringing that part of the dispute to a definitive conclusion.

The closure of the harassment investigation therefore represents the latest development in a prolonged disagreement that began with Mbappé’s final season in Paris.

The original dispute centred on his decision not to extend his contract and the club’s response to that decision. What followed involved his temporary exclusion from the first team, a return under Luis Enrique and, after his departure, several legal proceedings.

The dismissal of the harassment case does not establish that the events alleged by Mbappé did not occur; rather, the investigation ended because the authorities did not find sufficient evidence to continue the case.

With the employment ruling already settled and the harassment investigation now closed, the legal disputes arising from Mbappé’s final period at PSG have moved towards their conclusion.
