Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has called on his squad to block out the noise surrounding Real Madrid and focus entirely on their own football as they bid to become the first side in history to clinch the La Liga title at Camp Nou.

Flick addressed the media on Saturday ahead of Sunday's 264th edition of the fixture, with Barcelona requiring only a point to secure back-to-back La Liga titles. He spoke on the week's dressing room controversy at Real Madrid, on Kylian Mbappé, on La Masia and on what achieving a second consecutive title would mean to him personally.

On the match itself, Flick set the tone from the opening question.

"For me, what needs to be done is play and focus on our football. We have played a fantastic season and I want to see the same level and style tomorrow. I know the tension is high. The Clásico is the best Spanish football can offer. We want to play as a team, as a unit. I don't focus on other things."

He acknowledged that regardless of Real Madrid's turbulent week, they will come to Camp Nou with everything to give.

"Our objective is to win at home. We have a fantastic team, the supporters back us. But for them — for Real Madrid — it is also a Clásico, and they will all give one hundred per cent. They want to win. The Clásico is important for everyone."

On Mbappé, who could return from injury to start for Real Madrid, Flick was generous in his assessment.

"He is one of the best in the world. He brings tremendous quality. He is dangerous. He is incredible in front of the goalkeeper. He is the best there."

Asked whether the Valverde-Tchouaméni incident and the broader dressing room unrest at Real Madrid is a concern or a distraction, Flick drew a deliberate contrast with his own environment.

"These are things that happen all over the world — it is not something unique to Real Madrid. It surprised me a little, but it does not worry me because it is not my team."

He was then asked directly how he manages potential conflict inside his own dressing room.

"The most important thing — and I appreciate this at this club — is that we all move in the same direction. These things are not normal, but they can happen. You have to manage it and talk. You have to communicate. That is how we manage things here. If something happens — I will deal with it."

Flick pointed to the unique identity of his squad, shaped by the club's La Masia academy system.

"There are world-class players who are not from La Masia. Those who are from La Masia are special — they know each other, the connection is special between all the players. The work of La Masia is fantastic. Tomorrow will not be easy — it is difficult to pick the eleven. Almost everyone is available and at a great level. Some will be disappointed not to play, but all of them are focused. They are great professionals."

He returned to the collective spirit that has defined their campaign when asked whether he allows himself to enjoy this moment.

"We don't have to do anything differently. We have had a fantastic season, especially in recent weeks. We play with confidence and we are sure of what we do. There is a connection with the crowd. Everyone must be ready tomorrow."

On whether winning two consecutive titles is a measure of something special, Flick was characteristically understated.

"It is big for us to win two leagues in a row — but we have not done it yet. We want to take the final step tomorrow."

Barcelona have won their last 10 La Liga matches and are unbeaten in 22. Lamine Yamal is doubtful with a ligament injury. Florentino Pérez will not attend the match at Camp Nou, maintaining the position he has held since March 2023 following the Negreira case.
