The Palermo coach spoke to Corriere dello Sport about the national team, with Italy continuing to build around a new generation of players.
Asked whether Mancini is the right man to lead Italy, Inzaghi said: “I hope that our coach manages to do well. I am happy to see so many young players called up and I trust that they can demonstrate their value in the Azzurri shirt.”
“That shirt must be worn with pride.”
Inzaghi also reflected on his own managerial career, including spells with Milan, Bologna, Benevento and Salernitana.
The former Italy striker said those experiences have helped him develop as a coach and insisted he has no regrets about the setbacks he has encountered.
“Errors and regrets? You win and you lose. Everything has made me grow and I trust that I am a better coach than I was a few years ago and that I can become better than I am today in a few years.”

Inzaghi also assessed the Serie A title race, identifying Inter as the strongest squad while highlighting several potential challengers.
“I think Inter, in terms of squad and quality, are above the others. But Gasperini's Roma are impressing me and I think they can have their say until the end.”
“I also think Juventus, without the Champions League, can come back into contention. I hope Milan return to fighting for the Scudetto.”
The Palermo boss also praised Rino Gattuso's work at Lazio, while suggesting Como could challenge further than Napoli.
