Marc Cucurella is closing in on a departure from Chelsea with five major clubs now in active pursuit — Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City — as the Spain left-back explores his options.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Chelsea have set an asking price of €40-50m and are prepared to facilitate the sale, with the Spanish outlet confirming that Manchester United and Manchester City have now entered the race alongside the three clubs previously identified by The Athletic.

Barcelona are understood to be Cucurella's preference if the Catalan club can make a firm commitment. They are tracking him closely but cannot currently offer guarantees — their interest in him is conditional on what happens with left-back Alejandro Balde, who is expected to leave. Until that is resolved, Barcelona cannot offer Cucurella the assurances he is looking for.

Mundo Deportivo reports he is prepared to wait if Barcelona deliver a concrete offer, but the club are prioritising other positions this summer, which may force his hand toward another destination.

Atletico Madrid's interest remains the strongest in terms of active engagement. Real Madrid have also been linked but their own left-back situation is less pressured. Both Manchester clubs have now formally entered discussions, adding English competition to what had been a predominantly Spanish race.

Cucurella, 27, scored one goal and provided four assists in 50 competitive appearances this season. He is contracted at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2029.
