Marc Casado is ready to leave Barcelona this summer, having accepted that he will continue to have a limited role in the squad if he stays.

The midfielder featured sparingly for Barcelona during the 2025-26 season and a similar pattern is expected next term, prompting him to consider his options away from the club.

Several clubs have made enquiries over his situation, with Manchester United among the most persistent of his European suitors, although the English club have yet to submit a formal offer.

United have had Casado on their radar for some time, having first explored a move for the 22-year-old back in January.

Nothing came of those discussions, with the Catalan midfielder unwilling to leave Barcelona at that stage of the season.

Casado made 34 appearances for Barcelona across all competitions last season, starting 15 of those matches and accumulating 1,397 minutes of action.

Having hoped to play a bigger role this season, he is now prepared to push for an exit from the club, though it remains unclear whether any move would take the form of a loan or a permanent transfer.

That detail is expected to depend on which clubs make concrete offers and what their specific needs are.

The Premier League holds strong appeal for Casado, with United seen as the most likely destination, despite the lack of a firm bid.

The midfielder has a contract with Barcelona until June 2028 and is valued at around 20 million euros.

Barcelona sporting director Deco is keen to complete the sale before June 30 in order to balance the club's accounts, but progress has so far been slow, with the player currently on holiday and no firm proposals on the table.

Casado's agent, Jorge Mendes, is the same representative who works with Ansu Fati, and Mendes is expected to travel to Barcelona in the coming days to finalise Fati's move to Monaco.

That visit is expected to also cover discussions around Casado's own situation.

United are not the only club interested in the Barcelona academy product.

Bayer Leverkusen have also shown interest, according to German media reports, along with Real Betis in La Liga.

The most concrete enquiries, however, have come from clubs in Saudi Arabia, who have followed Casado closely since last season and have watched him in person at several matches.

A move to Saudi Arabia is not currently considered an attractive option for the midfielder, who would prefer to continue his career in one of Europe's more competitive leagues.
