Jude Bellingham reached the milestone during Real Madrid’s Champions League victory over Roma, then received a commemorative shirt at the club’s training ground.

The 23-year-old midfielder is now in his fourth season in Madrid, but laughed off the suggestion that he should be considered a veteran.

“I’m very happy and proud. It’s always a pleasure to play for this club, and I hope it continues for much longer,” Bellingham said.

“Real Madrid means a lot to me because it’s the biggest club in the world. It’s a great honour to play here and reach 150 matches.”

The England international has become an established part of the squad since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2023, and his comments focused on the responsibility that comes with playing for Real Madrid rather than the personal landmark alone.

“I’m 23 years old, if I’m a veteran...,” he said, responding to a question about his standing in the dressing room.

The remark captured the unusual position Bellingham occupies: still young, yet already with substantial experience at one of football’s most demanding clubs. His immediate focus, however, remains on the team’s progress and the trophies it can pursue.

“I’m enjoying my role in the team, and hopefully we can improve and win titles,” he added.

Bellingham also acknowledged that Madrid’s matches have not all been straightforward, while pointing to the team’s ability to come through difficult contests.

“Sometimes there are slightly tougher matches, but we’ve won almost all of them. We need to keep working and improving.”

Marca reported on Bellingham’s comments after Real Madrid presented him with the commemorative shirt. The milestone marked his appearance total, but his message was firmly directed towards what comes next: improving collectively and adding silverware.

At 23, the midfielder has already passed a significant landmark in a Real Madrid career he hopes will continue for years. His own assessment was less about looking back at 150 appearances than making sure the next stage brings further progress.
