Laimer, 28, is seeking an annual salary of between β¬12 and β¬15 million β a significant jump from his current package of around β¬10 million gross per year.
Bayern Munich have no intention of meeting that figure, according to the Bild Bayern Insider podcast, with the hierarchy determined to set a precedent having committed substantial sums to extensions for Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich, and Dayot Upamecano in recent years.
If Laimer does not lower his demands, Bayern plan to sell him this summer. If a sale cannot be agreed, they will allow his contract to expire in 2027 and lose him for nothing.
Laimer has been one of Vincent Kompany's most reliable performers this season, contributing 15 goal involvements across 42 appearances β a remarkable return for a player operating primarily as a right-back rather than in his natural central midfield role. His pressing intensity and positional flexibility have made him a cornerstone of Bayern's system.
The player has been measured in his public comments, stopping short of forcing the issue while making his position clear.
"Ultimately it's always about appreciation. That the performances you've put in over the last few years are recognised somewhere."
Sporting directors Max Eberl and Jan-Christian Dreesen have maintained a professional relationship with Laimer's representatives throughout, and both sides are said to remain on good terms despite the impasse.
A resolution remains possible, but Bayern's stance has not shifted and there is no indication that will change unless Laimer's camp moves first.
He is represented by the same agency as Serge Gnabry and Leon Goretzka, both among Bayern's higher earners β a fact his camp will continue to use as leverage as the summer window approaches.
