Unai Emery's side sold Tielemans to Manchester United for around €41m and see the 25-year-old Moroccan, who impressed for his country at this summer's World Cup, as the ideal reinvestment, according to africasoccer.com.
Villa scouts have watched him repeatedly and come away impressed by his work rate and aggressive style, though they face competition from elsewhere in the Premier League, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea among the other clubs credited with interest following his displays in the tournament.
El Aynaoui joined AS Roma from Lens for €23.5m last summer on a five-year contract and managed two goals and two assists in 34 appearances during a debut season in Serie A that also included involvement at the Africa Cup of Nations.
While that situation develops, another member of Roma's squad has chosen to stay put despite interest from elsewhere. Agent Giuseppe Riso, speaking to reporters as he left a meeting, revealed he had tried to engineer a move away for defender Gianluca Mancini this summer.
"I wanted to take him away, but even with important offers, with more money, he wanted to stay in Rome at all costs," Riso said. "(Gian Piero) Gasperini and (Tony) D'Amico were better than me at convincing him, I would have sold him," he added, laughing, before continuing: "He didn't want to, he turned everything down for Roma, it's a gesture he's making for the people of Roma. I told him: 'You're crazy', but I'm happy because he's happy, even though he could have earned more."
Mancini, who wears the number 23 shirt and has a tattoo dedicated to the club, enjoyed a standout season capped by derby goals and a return to European competition. Riso used the same conversation to praise captain Bryan Cristante, who has made 360 appearances for the club, as a player who will "go down in Roma's history."
Riso also touched on the future of Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi, another of his clients, while declining to be drawn on reported interest from Juventus.
"I still have to meet with Inter, as soon as I meet them we'll know: it's an evolving situation, there are things to consider but first I need to talk to them about it," he said.
"Juventus? I won't talk about that before speaking with Inter, it doesn't seem right to me. Then we'll think about the future: he scores important goals and has a big heart, I'll speak with Inter and then we'll figure it out."
The agent added that contract talks would also follow shortly for Inter Milan's Carlos Augusto, while describing AC Milan pair Francesco Camarda and Mattia Comotto as central to the club's future.
