Le Parisien reports that Arsenal have already presented their project and long-term plan to Mbemba and are hoping to secure his signature before any competing club can move. Manager Mikel Arteta is understood to be attracted specifically by Mbemba's flexibility โ the teenager can play as a left-back and as a centre-back, a profile that suits Arsenal's model of developing versatile defenders.
Mbemba has made 47 appearances for PSG's Under-19 side, scoring two goals and providing two assists, but has not yet earned a senior debut despite the club having offered him his first professional contract. The offer remains unsigned.
PSG's Ligue 1 rivals Paris FC have also expressed interest, giving Mbemba options on both sides of the competitive spectrum. However, the prospect of moving to Arsenal and developing under Arteta in the Premier League represents a significant step up in ambition.
Arsenal have been active in the youth transfer market this summer, having made an attempt for Liverpool's Josh Abe, and their recruitment of promising young talent from European academies is consistent with a strategy Arteta has pursued throughout his tenure.
