Angelo Stiller could leave Stuttgart as renewal talks stall

Angelo Stiller could leave VfB Stuttgart next summer after negotiations over a contract extension reportedly stalled, leaving the Bundesliga club facing uncertainty over the midfielder’s longer-term future.

The 25-year-old remains under contract until June 2028, but there have been no significant advances in discussions over a new agreement. The current situation has raised the prospect of a departure at the end of the season, although no final decision has been made.

According to Sky, Stuttgart and Stiller have not made sufficient progress towards extending their working relationship. The latest reports suggest the likelihood of him leaving is increasing rather than a renewal being close.

Stiller joined VfB Stuttgart from Hoffenheim in the summer of 2023 and has developed into an important figure in the team’s midfield. His composure in possession, passing range and ability to direct play have made him a key component of the side.

The prospect of losing him would therefore represent a significant consideration for Stuttgart’s recruitment planning. The club would need to assess whether an agreement remains possible or whether preparations for a future without the midfielder should begin.

However, there is no indication that Stiller has already agreed to join another club. Concrete negotiations with potential suitors are not currently reported to be taking place, and his next move remains undecided.

The lack of progress on a new contract does not automatically mean a transfer will happen, particularly with his existing deal running for another two seasons beyond the current campaign. Nevertheless, the uncertainty gives Stuttgart a reason to monitor the situation closely as the season develops.

For Stiller, the immediate focus remains on his performances for the club, where he has established himself since arriving from Hoffenheim. His importance to Stuttgart means any decision about his future is likely to be a major issue for the club’s sporting leadership.

Stuttgart will hope discussions can still change direction, but the present outlook points towards a possible summer exit rather than an imminent extension.

With no final decision or confirmed negotiations elsewhere, the coming months should provide a clearer indication of whether Stiller intends to remain in Stuttgart or pursue a new challenge.
