Frosinone continued their remarkable scoring run with a 5-1 victory over Lecce at the Stadio Benito Stirpe, prompting contrasting reactions from Massimiliano Alvini and Eusebio Di Francesco.

Marco Cichella opened the scoring in the 25th minute before Giacomo CalĂČ converted a penalty in first-half stoppage time. Antonio Raimondo made it 3-0 in the 59th minute, and Daniel BĂźrligea added a fourth in the 72nd. Lecce's Joel Monteiro pulled one back in the 82nd minute, but BĂźrligea completed his double in stoppage time.

Frosinone have now scored 13 goals across their last three matches, moving to 17 points after 10 league fixtures. Alvini was delighted with the performance and the significance of the result.

“I am very happy with the team's performance. It was an extremely important victory against a difficult opponent who stretches you. It is a fantastic win of great value, which allows us to take an important step towards our objective,” he said.

The coach explained that his players had needed to adapt to Lecce's approach, rather than simply impose their usual game.

“Lecce came to play in a different way from usual, so we had to adapt quickly. My insistence was about what we needed to do on the pitch. The team played an important and significant match, and the players deserve credit, particularly after Sunday's performance in Bergamo.”

Alvini also praised Raimondo's development, following the striker's contribution to another goal.

“The improvement in Raimondo is there for everyone to see. There is daily work behind this. Sometimes it comes off and sometimes it does not, but that is how we play.”

Despite Frosinone's impressive position, Alvini refused to allow the league table to distract his players.

“These are important numbers, but with 17 points you have achieved nothing. We have to work hard and make things happen to reach our objective. We must look ahead, match by match.”

Di Francesco was much less satisfied, identifying his team's mental approach as a major reason for the heavy defeat.

“We started the match well, but that does not justify what happened afterwards. Frosinone played a great game, but we came out of the match too easily and made mistakes, as happens too often. The team's mental resilience cost us the duels and the match,” he said.

“The fifth goal annoyed me enormously because it showed that we had switched off. Frosinone were more aggressive on the pitch, and when that happens, they deserve to win.”

Di Francesco rejected the idea that the result could be explained simply by injuries or tactical choices.

“We are not a team that can afford to have so many absences, but it was an opportunity for other players that needed to be taken. We lost aerial duels despite being one of the tallest teams. If we want to achieve our objective, our attitude has to change. We do not need to talk about systems; we need to think about the duels.”
