Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly joined the race for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Ibrahim Maza, whose performances have attracted growing attention since his move from Hertha BSC.

Algerian journalist Brahim Hanifi, who reports for Echorouk TV News, claims the French champions want to sign the 20-year-old “at any cost”. The report adds another major name to the list of clubs said to be tracking the attacking midfielder.

Maza has made an impressive start to the 2026-27 campaign, including a decisive contribution in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 Bundesliga victory over Freiburg on Sunday. His work helped create Patrik Schick’s late winner after Maza had also scored earlier in the match.

The Algeria international’s versatility is one of the qualities that could appeal to PSG head coach Luis Enrique. Although Maza is most comfortable operating centrally behind the striker, he has also been used on either wing by Leverkusen, giving his team options across the attacking line.

Leverkusen are keen to protect their investment. Maza’s current contract runs until 2030, but reports in Germany say the club are working on an improved extension to reward his progress and strengthen their position amid interest from elsewhere.

Maza joined Leverkusen from Hertha in 2025 for a reported €12m. He has since established himself as an important part of the squad, while his progress with Algeria has further raised his profile.

PSG are not the only club linked with the midfielder. Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also been mentioned among the interested sides, suggesting that Leverkusen could face competition if the player’s future becomes a transfer issue.

The reported interest remains distinct from a formal bid, and there is no confirmation that PSG have made an offer or opened negotiations with Leverkusen. For now, the German club’s priority appears to be securing Maza’s future with improved terms.

With his contract already running for several more seasons, Leverkusen are not under immediate pressure to sell. A new agreement could nevertheless help them retain a rising talent while reflecting his growing importance to the team.
