Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 as Daichi Kamada, Jefferson Lerma and Yeremy Pino punished missed chances in Oliver Glasner's return to Selhurst Park.

Nottingham Forest made an ideal start when Dan Ndoye scored in the third minute, but Palace responded with three goals to secure victory. Kamada equalised in the 41st minute before Jefferson Lerma put the hosts ahead in first-half stoppage time. Yeremy Pino completed the turnaround in the 59th minute.

Despite the defeat, Forest created numerous opportunities and could have taken a commanding lead before Palace recovered. Their failure to convert those chances proved costly, with goalkeeper Walter Benítez producing an important save to prevent the visitors from moving 2-0 ahead.

Forest manager Oliver Glasner was left frustrated by the result, believing his team had done enough to win the match.

“We didn't kill the game off and we should have done it, creating so many chances. I played many games here and I haven't seen a team create so many chances. At the end we did not convert them.

“We conceded the two goals before half time then we had two big chances but then we conceded the slapstick goal and we are 3-1 down.”

Glasner felt the performance deserved more than the final score suggested and refused to single out individuals for blame.

“Today it looks like it is just me who is responsible for this, call it karma or whatever but it was like I didn't deserve to win at Selhurst Park because the players did everything. Nobody to blame for anything, the effort was there and the quality was there.

“This performance will give us confidence even if it feels strange with the result.”

The Forest manager also defended Liam Delap after the forward missed a significant opportunity, arguing that his finishing strength had served him well throughout his career.

“He has scored 90% of his goals with power, that is his strength and I don't blame him for this. He knows he could have done it differently but I think 10 times with the same situation he would have scored that.”

Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage was pleased with the result but acknowledged the difficulties his side encountered against Forest's attacking approach.

“We are happy to win this game but we were aware of this one. We struggled a lot against a good team. They analysed us very well. In the end we won and that is the most important thing.”

Sage identified Benítez's save as a crucial moment that allowed Palace to remain in contention before their comeback gathered momentum.

“The most important moment was when Benitez saved to prevent it 2-0. At this moment we stayed in the game.

“We were not perfect but we are a team with a big heart and a big solidarity. Sometimes you have to win like this.”

Palace now turn their attention to Lyon in European competition. Sage said the players deserved time to recover after their victory, while the coaching staff would immediately begin preparing for the next challenge.
