Osmani, who plays for Germany's under-17s, has been training regularly with Bayern's first team since February, a period that culminated in his senior debut during a 4-0 win over Union Berlin, when head coach Vincent Kompany handed the Munich-born midfielder his first three minutes as a professional. Back problems have since kept him sidelined, but the club continues to hold the technically accomplished left-footer in high regard.
The plan for next season is for Osmani to feature primarily for Bayern's under-19 side while continuing to train regularly alongside the senior squad, a pathway the club has used successfully with several other academy graduates under Kompany in recent seasons.
Rather than being fast-tracked into regular first-team contention immediately, the new deal is designed to tie down a player Bayern regard as one of the more promising talents to come through their youth system, protecting their position amid interest that would likely grow were he to enter the final years of his previous terms.
Having joined Bayern's academy from local side TSV Milbertshofen back in 2017, Osmani has progressed through every age group at the club and already captained the under-17s. With competition for places in central midfield remaining fierce at senior level, the length of the new contract gives Bayern the security to continue developing him gradually rather than risk losing him for nothing further down the line.
The squad picture at senior level may yet open up further opportunities for Osmani sooner than expected.
Leon Goretzka's departure and the possible exit of fellow midfielder Noel Aseko to Eintracht Frankfurt would leave Bayern with a narrower pool of options behind the established trio of Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Tom Bischof, potentially accelerating the timeline for academy graduates like Osmani.
For now, though, the priority remains getting him fully fit and settled into regular training with Kompany's squad.
